Welcome to The Box Out Basketball Tournament! This tournament is an exciting opportunity for student-athletes to showcase their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship on the hardwood!

Event Details:
Date: May 24-26, 2024
Price: $200 per team
Venue: The Box Elder Event Center, 631 WaTiki Way, Box Elder, SD 57719

Game Information:
– Four 9-minute quarters, with a 45-second break after the 1st and 3rd quarter and a three-minute halftime (games may start up to five minutes ahead, please arrive early).
– The clock will stop during timeouts and the last 10 seconds of each quarter. Also, the clock will stop the last 60-seconds of the fourth quarter if the score is within 7 points.
– Each team is allowed (3) 30-second timeouts during regulation, timeouts will not carry over to overtime.
– Overtime will be 90-seconds, with the clock stopping during every dead ball. Double overtime will be decided by the first team to score a point. Each team will receive (1) additional timeout during the first overtime.
– Teams will reach the bonus at 5 fouls, resulting in one team shooting two free-throws. Both team’s foul count will be reset at the end of each quarter.
– Pool play, followed by bracket placement. All teams will have the opportunity to advance to bracket play, seeding will be based on teams win-lost record during pool play. If multiple teams have similar records in pool play, we will tally up the win-differential (points-won-by) from previous games to decide bracket placement.

Rules:
1). Each team is allowed a twelve-player roster, players can only compete for one (1) program/club.
2). Players must compete in their current or most recently completed grade, younger players may play up – please ensure players are listed on each roster.
3). No players may be added to the team roster after the team has played (1) game (the team will forfeit if they choose to play with a player not listed).
4). Teams must provide a scorekeeper and warm-up basketball.
5). 7/8th grade boys will use a men’s basketball, unless both teams agree to using a 28.5.
6). Referees have the authority remove spectators, coaches and players from any game, or the building for unsportsmanlike behavior. Please be respectful to all referees and tournament support staff!
7). Technical fouls will result in one team automatically receiving two points and possession of the ball.

Defense:
– No pressing when the lead is 10 points or more.
– All defenses are allowed.
